the finish of the Chicago Mac was crazy. Boats dismasted, people airlifted out of the race but fortunately none from our boat. Though we did break our boom vang and a spin sheet shackle and a belt was wearing severely on our diesel.

I’ll try to post pictures but I don’t know what I have to share.

I’m now on the boat again after three days of sorta rest.. I’ve been struggling with my desire to long distance race. I’m not sure why but it’s a very real feeling and I think I need to listen to myself.

it’s close to 90 down below in the bunks and I’m supposed to be sleeping but it’s just too hot. Our performance this far has been terrible but we’re showing signs of life right now as the wind picks up. I do the reading of the tea leaves for weather forecast as we move up the lake and it appears there will be some crazy holes of no wind that we’ll be lucky to miss so say a prayer.
