I’m way ahead of most of my trip curves at this point, maybe grey hair has one advantage. But I’d have to say that its about the only one I can think of right now. I woke up this morning with my back hollerin’ at me but refreshed and ready to pack. I had everything set out on the bedroom floor before I crashed and then to try and give myself a little acclimation to time zone I worked until about 2am .. thats 3pm Philippines time.
Then I was up at 5am to try and keep the roll going. I cut my hair, finished packing my day bag with camera and one spare change of clothes. I’ve made my coffee and am writing this to you on my new foldable keyboard that I can attached to my tablet. The tablet/keyboard combo is a new touch for this trip, it allows me to blog from just about anywhere and not have to track down the internet cafe’s like I have in the past. It also means less crazy keyboards to try to adapt to just this one.
I’ll come back to this post as the day goes on, but left to do right now with 7 hours to go is simply put my clothes in my backpack. I can’t really think of anything else left to do other than stretch and nap 😉
So, looking at the weather, it appears that I am off to a wet and windy start for the first four days I am there. Might not be so bad just to chill out and sit on a veranda on the beach somewhere and enjoy cocktails, snoozing, reading and relaxing. I’ll definitely keep you posted on how this gets along.
Right now I’m at the airport in Detroit sitting in the Sky Club enjoying my glass of wine and my new folding keyboard I bought for the trip (see above). I have to say this thing by iClever is amazing. Wonderful key feel, size and just a bit larger folded than I would like but I can deal for sure.
Ahead of me for the next 24 hours is:
- 5 hours to LAX, 2.5 hour layover
- 15 hours 20 minutes to CAN (Guangzhou – or shanghai – china) 2.5 hr layover
- 2 hr 25min to MfNL Manila
All in all we’re looking at 23 hours approximately of flight time and 5 hours of layover… WOW!
more to come later.
Can’t wait to see all the sites through your eyes and also, I agree about the zebra luggage. Thumbs up! ????
Nice zebra luggage! It’s totally you Bill.
Have a great trip! We’ll be thinking of you during our Thanksgiving feast.
If I get on a plane right now…
Get some sleep; love your posts!
I second the comment about living vicariously.

Wow that’s a lot of air time, sleep on the plane!!
Have a great time!!!
There’s no easy way to get to south east Asia. 4 days chilling on a veranda and you *might* be over the jetlag. It all depends on what you do at night. 😉 Have fun!
Have an awesome trip…living vicariously!
